Final conference on the project "Support and development of activities with the Roma community in Zborov"
On April 18 and 19, 2024, the two-day Final Conference on the project "Support and development of activities with the Roma community in Zborov" was held in the Šerédy Mansion, where, in addition to the project partners, civic associations and foundations from the surrounding area and national projects underway in the municipality of Zborov were presented.
On the first day of the conference, the main partners of the project, namely Cesta von, o. z. and ZBOR-STAV, s.r.o., r.s.p., presented themselves at the beginning of the conference as the grant recipient and in the following block of presentations they presented their organization and activities in the municipality in more detail. In the afternoon block of presentations, the State Scientific Library in Prešov (ŠVK PO), the civic association Vyrovnávanie šancí, the Bardejov Community Foundation, the Public Health Authority and Bašta, the cultural and community center in Bardejov, spoke. At the end of the presentations, a representative of the Ministry of Investments, Regional Development and Informatization spoke.
The first day of the conference was closed with a presentation on the activities in the village of Zborov by the National Project Field Social Work and Community Centers and the Local Civic and Preventive Service (MOaPS) project of Zborov. After dinner, an informal part of the conference with a free discussion and a cultural program took place.
On the second day of the conference, in the morning, Cesta von, o.z., presented its programs, activities and experience of working in the village of Zborov. The coordinator and expert for finance in the NP Field Social Work spoke next. After the presentations, the field part of the conference was held, where the participants moved to the settlement, where, among others, Omamy from the Cesta von OZ also work and where construction is underway as part of the DOM.ov project. The tour continued to the new Kindergarten building and the Community Center, where activities are also taking place within the project. The project connected education, housing, employment and a number of associated soft activities.
During the conference, the presentations were enriched with demonstrations of cultural objects processed by ŠVK PO and the exhibitions “Successful Roma Women” by OZ In Minorita and “Roma Crafts” by Maň Štrauch. We thank all participants for their presentations.
